This Chouchenn is much more complexe. For proof, it holds two silver medals: Best French Wines, Spirits and Beers in Miami 2019 and the General Agricole Contest of Paris 2020.
The fermentation is slow, lasting 4 to 5 months. It’s aged in a French oak barrel for 3 years and finished for 2 years in a scotch whisky barrel. This final twist gives its intense wood and subtle malted notes.
Classically it is served chilled as an aperitif, but it is also very pleasant with cheese, dessert or as the final touch of an evening. Try it also to serve it hot with a dash of lemon!
